The beauty in raw materials — Norm Architects

They have expertly used the natural texture and colours of the materials to their advantage, creating a truly stunning appearance.

Architect-designed IKEA kitchen fronts and tops. Sounds like a crazy concept, but it's an idea that is at the core of a design company called Reform. Reform takes the versality, durability, and user friendliness of IKEA kitchen modules, and pairs them up with well-known designers and architects around the world, to create some of the most beautiful, yet affordable, kitchens available.

One specific range from Reform caught our eye. Designed by Norm Architects, their unique kitchen top designs were brought to life by combining a simple and timeless design with raw materials that age and wear beautifully over-time.

Norm Architects make no attempt to disguise or hide the true textures and colours of the materials they have chosen. Instead, they have expertly used the natural texture and colours of materials to their advantage, creating a truly stunning appearance.

If at all possible, we hope to find a similarly striking solution for eye-wear design and take advantage of the beauty of raw materials and create eye-wear that react to wear and age in ways that expose the beauty of the materials themselves.
